Jakob Buch - Tenor
The Chosen One. Musical depth and even deeper thoughts.
For friends and experts of the 'Matrix' Trilogie this much can be said: Jakob knows the real core of things. The self-titled 'Realist' doesn't believe - he KNOWS! Where others suppose, he has long since achieved the higher truth of rationality. He doesn't rewrite problems, he gets right to the point. With a sobering clarity. Take for instance the rehearsal studio, where this Leipzig native, being as modest as he is, rarely accepts his own perfection: 'I think, that right there was almost ok...!?!'
Music has always been the deciding factor in Jakobs life, and that in many facets: as a song writer he recorded his own works on guitar. Later he wrote rap lyrics which he now categorizes on a scale of 'funny' to 'humiliating'. Since his singing studies Jakob has lived in Cologne and worked as a tenor in productions from baroque all the way through to contemporary music. How lovely, that he is returning to his pop roots with vocaldente.
But when is even his rational spirit, the spirit which contemplates 'the plurality of society and its complexity', the same spirit which tries to explain evolution in terms of 'the human struggle for dominance' - when is this spirit overwhelmed? By perfect harmonies, by heartfelt melodies AND by the great love of his life, Lokje! Her loyal eyes, her wavy hair, and her cold little nose bring that special smile to his face. Too bad, that he can't always bring his sister's dog with him on tour...
In the original film 'Matrix' the Chosen One shows his fellow man 'a world, in which anything is possible'. We are all too excited to see what OUR 'Chosen One' can show us!
